This is an exhibition by the Kansai ​Research Group Printmaking Division ​of Shunyo-kai, an art organization ​celebrating its 101st anniversary in ​2024.

It stands on a site that was once called "Harada no Mori" (Harada Forest), where budding artists started an emerging art movement in the late Taisho period (1912-1926). Opened in 2002 as the Oji Branch of Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art.

About Shunyo-kai Kansai Research ​Group Printmaking Division


Since its establishment in 1922, the Shunyo-kai has continued its study group activities with the ​aim of teaching and training younger generations. The Shunyo-kai Kansai Research Group was ​formed in 1948 and has continued to this day.


The Shunyo-kai Kansai Print Club is engaged in the following activities

 Critique of works and guidance by Shunyo-kai members living in Kansai (about 4 times a year / ​ including study sessions at exhibition sites)

 Holding exhibitions of prints by the Shunyo-kai Kansai Print Club

Main Activities

 Study group for Shunyo-kai exhibition (February)

 Study meeting for the Shunyo Exhibition in Osaka (June)

 Study group for Kansai Kenkyukai Print Club Exhibition (August)

 Study group for the Kansai Kenkyukai Print Division Exhibition/Venue (September)

 Conference room on the 4th floor of Suita Sankusu Hall, located close to JR Suita Station, on ​ Sunday afternoons in principle.

Qualifications for admission

Those who have been selected for the Shunyo-kai (Tokyo Main Exhibition) and those who have ​been judged and exhibited at the Shunyo-kai Kansai Research Group Print Division Exhibition.

Those who wish to join as a new research student must submit two or more prints to be judged by ​the members, and those who receive the approval of more than half of the members present will ​be permitted to join.
